Building Accessible, Evidence-Based Psychology Courses
I develop open educational resources (OERs) and complete course packages designed to improve student access, reduce educational costs, and support evidence-based learning. My curriculum development work combines expertise in psychology, research methods, assessment design, instructional technology, and higher education teaching to create engaging learning experiences for both students and instructors.
As an educator, I believe high-quality educational materials should be accessible, practical, and grounded in research. Through the development of open educational resources and fully integrated online course packages, I aim to support student success while providing instructors with ready-to-implement materials that can be adopted, adapted, and improved over time.
Why Open Educational Resources?
Textbook costs can create significant barriers for students. Open educational resources provide a pathway to high-quality, zero-cost course materials while allowing instructors the flexibility to customize content for their students and learning objectives.
My approach to OER development focuses on:
- Accessibility and affordability
- Evidence-based teaching practices
- Clear alignment between learning outcomes and assessments
- Engaging, student-centered learning experiences
- Practical implementation for instructors
- Continuous improvement informed by educational research

Together, the textbook and LMS package provide a complete, zero-cost instructional solution for developmental psychology courses.
Beyond Textbooks: Designing Complete Learning Systems
My curriculum development work extends beyond content creation. Each project involves the integration of learning outcomes, assessment design, instructional materials, educational technology, and student engagement strategies into a cohesive learning experience.
These projects reflect my broader interests in educational research, evaluation, learning science, and evidence-based teaching. By combining research expertise with practical instructional design, I aim to create resources that support meaningful learning while improving accessibility and equity in higher education.
